Harry Michael Smith, 69, of Fort Morgan, was called home on Wednesday, September 30 th , 2020 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado due to complications from Covid-19.
Harry was born on July 3, 1951 in Sioux City, Iowa to Harry and Elaine Smith. They moved to La Habra, California in 1962. Harry graduated from Sonora High School in 1969. He worked different odd jobs and then ended up working with family. Harry married the love of his life Becky on August 2 nd , 1980. They were married for 40 years.
In 1983, they decided to move to Fort Morgan, Colorado. This is when Harry begun his long career of working for Cargill. He worked for them for 34 years. He retired in May of 2018. Some of Harry's past times were going to the races every weekend. He rarely missed a race. He loved watching the Denver Broncos, fishing, and hanging out with his family and friends. He recently had a great grand daughter named Harleigh, whom was his pride and joy. Even though he hated needles, he donated blood for many years. Harry was a very caring and loving man to all whom knew him.
Harry leaves behind his wife, Becky Smith of Fort Morgan, CO, his son, Chip (Nancy) Smith, Gardena, CA, his daughter, Rachel (Curt) Erickson of Brush, CO, his sisters Carolyn Dodson and Linda Taylor, his brother Kenny Smith, and lots of nieces and nephews. He was also survived by 4 grandchildren, Ryan (Fernanda), Quinn (Katlynne), Lydia, and Brenden and 3 great grand-children, Julian, Harleigh and Isabella and many other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Life Fellowship Church at 10 am. Luncheon will be served immediately after at the Country Steak Out. We ask that everyone wear broncos gear, broncos' colors, or just dress casual. We welcome everyone to come and celebrate his life with us.
