Hazel C. Cross, 102, passed away early Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush. Hazel had been living at the Bee Hive in Fort Morgan since 2004. Hazel was born December 12, 1910 in Cowley County, Kansas to Frank and Josephine Jackson. She was raised on a farm outside Udall, Kansas and graduated from high school in a nearby town. She married Andrew "Bud" Cross on January 23, 1941 in Chandler, Oklahoma. Following the war in 1946, Bud started farming South of Fort Morgan and they made their home together in Fort Morgan until Bud passed away in 1996. Hazel was a member of the First Christian Church in Ft. Morgan, the Morgan County Women's Bowling Association, the Colorado Women's Bowling Association, and the Morgan County and State of Colorado Democratic Party. She is survived by one step-son, Ronald Cross and wife Betty of Fort Morgan, one step-grandchild, five great step-grandchildren, two great-great step-grandchildren, and one sister. Memorial Services will be Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11:00 am at the First Christian Church in Fort Morgan with Reverend Selena Wright officiating.
