HAZLE MAE MCCRACKEN, 99, died Tuesday morning, October 29, 2013 at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. She was born May 17, 1914 in Atlantic City, IA to William & Birdie (Smith) Parker. She married Bud McCracken in Denver, CO on January 24, 1947. Hazle & Bud were foster caregivers for 49 years, opening their home to over 100 children. Hazle was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan. She also belonged to the Keebler Doll Club, serving as past president. Hazle is survived by two sons, Robin Hotchkiss and Perry Roberts; her daughter, Jody Piercy; and her foster daughter, Bethry Howard, all of Fort Morgan, 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Helen Parker; her husband, Bud McCracken; her daughter, Donna Maxine Hotchkiss; her son, Randall McCracken; her foster daughter, Suzi Holder, and two grandsons. Visitation will be from 2 - 5 PM on Sunday, November 3rd at the Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan. Funeral services will be Monday, November 4th at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan.
