Heath Michael Becker, age 50, passed away peacefully in his home after a courageous battle with cancer on the morning of January 10, 2021.  He was born to Cheryl & Dan Becker on April 20, 1970.

Heath grew up in his family's treasured farming community of Hoyt, Colorado, spending his early years bused from Hoyt to Wiggins, later moving to Brush, where he graduated from Brush High School in 1988.  He later met his wife, Suzanne, through a blind date.  They married on March 24, 2001, in Limon, Colorado.

Enjoying being a kid himself, Heath needed a team to relish in his shenanigans, so their family multiplied.  The meaning of family was in his essence.  He was deeply committed to his three children Jonathan (17), Grant (15), and Sarah (13), and never left out his furry friends.  Heath's unselfish and giving nature for helping others was truly inspiring.

Heath was a member of the Platte Valley Baptist Church.  His responsibility to faith and the promise in Biblical Truth, patriotism, and family was much of the lesson we hope to reaffirm in our generations to come.  Knowing his forever home is Heaven, he avidly studied it, along with the Bible, and much of our country's history.  He was a sports enthusiast.  The Boston Celtics, Indianapolis Colts, and our hometown Beetdiggers were the front runners.  Much of his life was spent coaching youth up through high school in varying sports.  He ended his coaching career proudly supporting the 2019 – 2020 Beetdigger Basketball team as the head varsity coach, a lifetime dream.  Heath also helped develop the Watrous Disc Golf Park to give adults and youth other outlets for recreation.

Counseling followed his career path, starting in the High Plains Youth Center while moving into 20 plus years as a Youth Treatment Counselor for the STEPS program of Morgan County.  Serving others also ignited a dedication for effective change and fresh ideas within his community.  He recently finished out an eight-year term as a Brush City Councilman.  Other favorite hobbies and interests include shopping with his favorite daughter, disc golfing and fishing with his boys, hiking, spending time at the family cabin in Red Feather, and reminiscing about farm life with his brother in Missouri.   And who could forget his St. Nick tricks at Christmas time?  It was his favorite time of the year.

Heath was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jay & Frances Paulsen, Jake & Anna Becker, Aunt Kari Smith, Aunt Janyce Paulsen, Uncle Randall Becker and Uncle Ronny Becker.

Survivors include his wife, Suzanne; 3 children, Jonathan Michael, Grant Michael, and Sarah Lynn; his parents, Cheryl & Dan Becker; 1 brother Colby (Kristin) Becker of Aurora, MO; 1 sister, Mandy (Shane) Brown of Brush; his parents-in-law, Judy & Chuck Pierce of Limon and his brother-in-law Todd (Jasmine) Pierce of Rapid City, SD.  Also surviving include three nieces, Mariah (Bruce) Taylor, Olivia Pierce, Josephine Pierce and two nephews, Jake Brown and Ben Brown.

Funeral services will be at the Platte Valley Baptist Church east of Fort Morgan at 22750 US Highway 34 on Friday, January 15, at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.  The service will be live-streamed at https://christianworldmedia.com/livechannel/pvbconline.
