Heinz Nicholas Silz, 90, lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Grace Point Care Center in Greeley. Heinz was born June 14, 1925 in Kahlow, Germany to Otto and Anna Silz. Heinz and Thea Mae Groves eloped and were married on December 2, 1948 in Raton, New Mexico. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. In his earlier years, Heinz owned and operated a wholesale produce company west of Fort Morgan on highway 34. Heinies Market was moved to Wheatridge, Colorado and has been operating for 65 years. Heins enjoyed playing poker and other games of chance. He is survived by his wife Thea Mae of Fort Morgan, daughters, Sheila Monroe, (Larry) of Hemphill, Texas, and Janet Montel,(Jeff), of Divide, Colorado, sons, Heinz Silz, (Cheryl) of Golden, Martin Silz, (Becky), of Fort Morgan, and Daniel Silz, of Golden. Grandchildren, Matthew Silz, Lindsey Biggs, Alyson Hood, Haleigh Silz, Layton Silz, Shawna Silz, Fawntel Romero, Shannon Silz, Levi Silz, Caleb Silz, Ashley Weber, Kole Silz, Shamara Sanchez, Lexi Silz, Ian Montel, Keef Montel, Brandy Silz, LaRay Silz, Desi Hall, D J Silz, Angela Hoke, Cassandra Halverson, Elissa Thomas, Daniel Groves and Brieanna Gripp, and 29 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Nicholas Silz, and sisters, Anna Schott, Elsie Long, and Ruthie Underwood. There will be a visitation on Sunday, September 20th from 2 until 4 pm at the Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan. Funeral Services will be Monday, September 21st at 10:30 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens. Memorial Gifts may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
