Helen Florence (Teter) Emhovick, 80, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022, in Colorado Springs, CO. Helen was born August 15, 1941 in Brush, Colorado to Florence and Elliot Teter. She was 1 of 7 children.
Helen graduated from Hillrose high school in 1959. On September 2, 1962 she married the love of her life, Paul Emhovick. After marrying, they moved to Hillrose, CO where they lived, farmed, and ranched until 2004 when Paul passed away. From this marriage, 2 children were born. First was daughter, Kelly Marie (Braaten), and Paul Elliot (Emhovick).
Helen lived a fulfilling life. She was a farm wife, an accomplished florist, and later in life a teacher's aide for kindergartners at the Thompson Elementary School in Brush. She enjoyed putting together puzzles, spending time with her many grandkids and great grandkids, and spending time connecting and keeping in touch with her friends and family on facebook. She was a Broncos fan, a lover of Elvis Presley music, and in her younger years an avid bowler.
Following the passing of her late husband, Helen moved to Colorado Springs where she spent her remaining years.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Paul; sister Barbara; brothers William (Buster), Bobby, Marvin; grandson Keenan; and parents Florence and Elliot.
Those left to cherish her memory include brother Melvin and sister Patsy; daughter Kelly (Rob) and son Paul (Donna); Grandchildren Bobby Barker, Jami (Robbie) Furrow, Tyler (Jessica) Herbst, Kasey Schuerman (David), Natasha (Darrel) Sullivan, Nic Braaten; Great Grandchildren Jayci, Alex, Gracelyn, Jack, Bodhi, Luka, Laynee, Logan, William, Hunter, Kenli, Trevor, Caitlyn, Anna, and Hailey.
She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Special thanks to caregivers Maria and Yolonda for all of the special love and care they provided.
A service to celebrate Helen's life will be held at the Brush United Methodist Church, 1701 Edmunds Street in Brush on Monday, April 25th at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 AM. Graveside services to follow at the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
A reception will be held at The Hall, 204 West Beaver Ave, Fort Morgan from 1-4pm.
