Helen Agnes
Eskew
Oct 30, 1928 — Jul 20, 2024
Helen Agnes Eskew, 95, passed away July 20, 2024. She born October 30, 1928, in Otis, Colorado, to Frank and Laura Frenzl. Helen was one of six children who grew up on the family farm south of Otis.
Her life was a testament to her strength and resilience, especially after the passing of her beloved husband, Bill Eskew in 1959. Helen's unwavering spirit saw her through the challenges of raising seven children on her own. In 1967, she left the farm and moved to Brush, where she dedicated 37 years of her life as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Sunset Manor. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her profession as she also ran a daycare, touching the lives of many children and families.
Helen took great delight in life's simple joys—tending to her garden, crafting intricate embroidery, preparing family meals, and losing herself in the pages of a good book. The serenity of a garden nurtured with love, and the comfort of a meal made from scratch were sources of immense pleasure for her.
We remember Helen for her kindness, her warm smile, and the love she poured into everything she did. She leaves behind a legacy of love and the melodies of her favorite songs that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her five siblings; her husband, James "Bill" Eskew; son Bill Eskew; son-in-law, Frank Doyle; grandson Eddie Eskew; and granddaughter, Monica. She is survived by her children, Patty (Frank) Doyle, Bill (Karen) Eskew, Ed (LaRoyce) Eskew, Judy (David) Musgrave, John (Mae) Eskew, Betty (Stephen) Eby, and Sally Eskew; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held for Helen Thursday August, 1, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Heer Mortuary in Brush, followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow the service at Akron Cemetery.
