Helen M. Pennington, 62, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at her Fort Morgan home surrounded by her children, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Helen was born July 6, 1948 at Warren Air Force Base, Cheyenne WY to Beulah L. (Downie) and Lloyd W. Bostrom. She married Robert Pennington on September 26, 1970 in Northglenn, CO. They lived in Livermore and Willard and settled in the Brush area. She was a rancher's wife until 1983 when she started her nursing career first as a LPN and then as a RN. She worked at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center, Colorado Plains Medical Center and retired from Banner Health where she worked on the float pool. She was a cheerful woman who always had a smile and a helping hand. She had a love for animals and children. She enjoyed going to retreats with Camp Farthest Out, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved traveling, reading, gardening and crafts of all kinds. She is survived by her three children, Robert & Stephanie Pennington of Fort Morgan, Rebecca Pennington of Fort Morgan, and Nadine & Don Muench of Sutherland, NE; her mother, Beulah Bostrom of Cheyenne, WY; two brothers, Lloyd Bostrom of Phoenix, AZ, Tom (Debbie) Bostrom of Cheyenne, WY; one sister, Betty (Don) Dowe of Jamestown, CO. She has 6 grandchildren, Milo Wilson, Monica Sheppard, Skyler Wilson, Ross Pennington, Robert and Lisa Muench and 8 great-grandchildren, Brynden, Conner, Rozilyn, Bryse, Berlynn, Madison, Brodie, Lillianne. She is also survived by her great friend, Bob Pennington, of Brush. She was preceded in death by her father. A Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Calvary Assembly of God, 1012 Eaton Street in Brush at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be April 4, 2011 at Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Brush from 5 to 7 PM. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
