Obituary

Helen (Taddy) Swinson was born on June 22, 1922 in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of W.D. and Helen (Weber) Miller. She died April 21, 2011. She married Glenn Swinson on September 22, 1941 in Olney. Illinois. She and her family were transferred to Brush, Colorado in 1955. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to all. Her family and friends were the most important part of her life. She enjoyed cross-stitching, gardening, poetry and doing volunteer work. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She had been a member of the Red-Cross for twenty years and she and her husband had been drivers for Meals and Friendship since the start of the program. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Patrick, great grandson Waylon and her brother, Wid Miller. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Glenn; 6 children, Mike (Carol) Swinson, Kathy (Tom) Latham, Tom (Gail) Swinson, Joe Swinson, Nancy (John) Samples, and Jean (Dennis) Bostron; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She also has two brothers, Dr. Gilbert Miller and Dr. Jim Miller. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. A Rosary will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 pm at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Brush. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 am also at Saint Mary's Catholic Church. The service will conclude at the church.
