Helen E. Toft, 82, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Brush. She was born December 3, 1928, in Bennett, CO, to Peter & Sena Hawk. On April 21, 1946, Helen married Howard Toft in Strasburg, CO. The Toft family moved to Brush in 1963. Helen worked for several years at the Kozy Kort Motel. She was a member of the Eastern Star #68. When her children were growing up, Helen served as a Cub Scout den mother, and a Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed playing cards. Survivors include her husband, Howard of Brush; 6 children, Frederick, and his wife Renee of Port Mansfield, TX; Marna Williams; and Patrick, and his wife Carol, all of Casper, WY; James of Bennett, CO; Michael, and his wife Connie and Norman P. Toft, and his wife Connie, all of Brush; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.. She was preceded in death by 1 son-in-law, John Williams and her parents. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 – 6 PM at the Heer & Dahl Chapel. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society or to the Eastern Star #68 both c/o Heer & Dahl Mortuary.
