Herman Oblander, 98, longtime Hillrose area resident, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016, at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush. He was born August 15, 1918, in Windsor, CO to Alex & Katherine Oblander.

On March 11, 1952,, Herman married Rose Anderson in Greeley. The Oblander family moved to the Hillrose community in 1968, where Herman farmed.

Herman was a member of the Immanuel Congregational Church in Brush. He enjoyed gardening and reading – especially reading encyclopedias.

Survivors include his four children, Donna (Kim) Siefkas of Las Animas, CO; Marian (Bob) Conway of Eppstein, Germany; Elmer; and Arthur (Jamie Crall) all of Fort Morgan; 1 sister, Alma Roberts of Henderson, CO; 1 brother, Raymond Oblander of Greeley, CO; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose; 2 sisters, Frieda Wuest and Esther Hergenreder; and his parents.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 8, at 10:00 AM at the Immanuel Congregational Church in Brush. Inurnment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. The Heer Mortuary is entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Immanuel Congregational Church in Brush.
