Obituary

Herman Weibert, 75, of Wiggins died early Monday morning at his home in Wiggins. He was born September 13, 1932 in Gill, to Emanuel and Anna (Oestrich) Weibert. He attended grade and high school at Gill and he was active in sports. He graduated in May of 1951. He was called to serve his country during the Korean Conflict and was stationed at Fort Ord, CA. He was honorably discharged in 1956. He returned home and was engaged in farming with his brother Emanuel in Gill. In 1958 they moved their farming operation at Gill and purchased a farm near Hoyt. He farmed there until 1972 when he purchased a farm north of Wiggins. In 1995 he sold the farm and retired due to failing health. He was an avid sports fan and took a lot of pride in his yard. He married Eileen Ann Linnebur on February 14, 1977 at their home in Wiggins. Herman was a member of the Fort Morgan Elks Lodge for over 50 years, and a member of the American Legion Post in Wiggins. He served on the Community Church Board for which he has been a member for many years. He is survived by his wife Eileen of Wiggins, his sister Ella Hoff of Greeley, his brother John Weibert of Longmont and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents 3 sisters; Esther Alles, Kathleen Feuerstein, and Marie Krieger, 4 brothers; Clarence Weibert, Fred Scheetz, Alex Scheetz , and Emanuel Weibert. Visitation will be held at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Ft. Morgan on Thursday from 3-5pm. A Funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30 am at the Wiggins Community Church in Wiggins. Friends who wish may make memorial donations in Herman's name to the Wiggins Community Church 423 Dickson St. Wiggins, CO 80654. Interment will be held at 2:00pm at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Greeley.
