Obituary

Ida Hood, 70, life resident of Woodrow & Brush communities, passed away Tuesday night at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was born June 5, 1938, in Brush to Andrew & Lula Blake. Her family farmed and ranched in the Woodrow area for many years. Ida enjoyed working in her flower garden, and growing beautiful flowers. She enjoyed playing bingo and doing crafts. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Moose Lodge of Morgan County. Survivors include her two children, Cindy Strauch, and her husband, Ken, and Bobby Hood, and his fiancé, Ann, all of Brush; 1 sister, Fern Hall of Brush; 1 ½ sister, Betty Ivey of West Virginia; and 2 granddaughters, Amber Imel, and her husband, Josh, and Kelli Strauch. She was preceded in death by her sister, Daisy Rosenfield; 4 brothers, Raymond Blake, Kenneth Blake, Henry Blake, and Robert Blake, and her parents. A graveside service and interment will be held Friday, September 19, 2008, at 2:00 PM at the Brush Memorial Cemetery Interment Chapel. Friend who wish may make memorial gifts to Hospice & Palliative Care of North Colorado in Fort Morgan.
