Ila Mae Wernsman, 88,
longtime area resident, died Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the Bee Hive Assisted Living Facility in Fort Morgan. She was born July 10, 1927 in Torrington, Wyoming to Orville and Gertrude (Young) West. She married Walter C. Wernsman on June 10, 1947 in Sterling. They moved to Fort Morgan from Sterling in 1971. Walter died in 1977. Ila was a member of Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan, and served on the Rosary and Altar Society. In her earlier years, Ila was an instructor at NORESCO for thirty years. She enjoyed playing bridge, the piano, and making quilts. Survivors include three daughters, Sara Buchholtz (Gary) of Loveland, Bonnie Noffsinger (Jim) of Greeley, and Carrie Dahl (Pete) of Fort Morgan, one son, Ted Wernsman (Julie) of Rifle, grandchildren, Michelle Fahrenbruch, Michael McDonald, Paul Noffsinger, David Noffsinger, Pamela Roth, Lisa Dahl, Curt Dahl, Adam Dahl, Bret Wernsman, and Kisa Hansen, and nineteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, and two sisters, Dottie Bussey and Marga Brown. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan starting at 3:00 PM, followed by a Rosary Vigil which starts at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens.
