Iola Mae
Ebendorf
May 10, 1922 — Aug 10, 2017
Iola Mae Ebendorf (95)
A celebration of a life; well lived, and now gone.
To remember; the passing; of a beloved Teacher and mentor to many of her students in the Fort Morgan and Brush, Greely, Creede areas and beyond.
Iola Mae Ebendorf. Who, having lived a full life in Colorado and resident of Brush, Co. passed away this Friday August 11th 2011
Her last Story.
(as befitting a teacher and story teller).
It occurred; on a beautiful, relaxing, Friday, the 11th of August. As she settled to bed for the last time; as all things must, and passed, peacefully, beyond. At the Ebenezer Lutheran Care center in Brush Colorado.
As she joins her two brothers and sister: Owen Ebendorf (d.) 2017 and Ova Ebendorf (d.) 2017, and her sister Lucile Ebendorf Wyckoff (d.) 2002.
Iola; was the blessing, born of the union of Fred and Ruby Ebendorf on May 10th, 1922. Galt, Missouri.
She was never married but while she taught students for many years she always thought of them as her children and dearly loved all of them. Her, students and fellow teachers, often stayed in touch through mail over the many years as she saw and rejoiced in seeing the pictures of her students; all grown up and holding their own children a future to the next and next generations.
She had taught in Creede, Woodrow, Brush and Fort Morgan, among others. Iola is survived by her niece and nephew.
Irene Wyckoff Aldridge (Lakewood, Co.) and her brother Terrel Wyckoff (Brush, Co.)
She will be missed for her giving, caring, wisdom and sweet soul.
Per her wishes, she was quietly cremated and interred at the Brush cemetery.
