On January 9, 2023, at the age of 84, Irene Louise Dykes, with family by her side, went to be with the Lord. Irene was born on December 4, 1938 in Stewartville, Minnesota to parents, Roy and Elfrieda Turnmire. She was raised in Claremont, Minnesota.

After graduation, she went to Owatonna, Minnesota to start her career working at Federated Insurance. In 1962 she met the love of her life, Jim Dykes. They married and lived in Owatonna. Into this marriage they raised five children; Curt, Doug, Debra, Donna and Craig. In 1973, Jim and Irene moved with their children to Colorado. Irene worked at and retired from First National Bank of Fort Morgan in 1996.

Before and after retirement, Irene enjoyed gardening, bowling, crocheting and sewing. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and loved singing with the church choir. Family was always important to her.

Irene is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jim Dykes of Fort Morgan; sons, Curt (Kim) Dykes of Brush, Doug Dykes of Fort Morgan, Craig (Bonnie) Dykes of Brush; daughters, Debra (Harold) Warner of Park Rapids, Minnesota, and Donna M. (Tim) Araujo of Fort Morgan; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her siblings, Margaret (Bob- deceased), Lorraine (John), Ruth (Larry), Dorothy (Barth), Alice (Greg), Glen (Nickie – deceased), and David.

Irene will be greatly missed by her family, extended family, and friends.

Visitation will be at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, January 17 ^th at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 1100 West Platte Ave. in Fort Morgan. Funeral Services will follow, beginning at 1:30 PM. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
