Irene G. Kautz (88) formerly of Ft. Morgan, died Wednesday morning at the Fairacres Manor in Greeley. She was born January 12, 1919 in Logan County to Eli and Elizabeth Adams. She married Herman Kautz May 21, 1937 in Ft. Morgan. They farmed in the area until they retired. She enjoyed cooking, embroidering, word puzzles, making tea towels, quilts & pillows, she especially enjoyed making table cloths for her grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter Mrs. Richard ( Betty ) Schneider of Joes, CO; one son Bruce Kautz and his wife Katherine of Northglenn, CO; a daughter in-law, Kathy Mekelburg of Wiggins, CO; one sister Marjorie Parker of Bridgeport, NE, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Herman; one daughter Barbara; two sons Larry and Richard; her brothers, Jobe, Frank and Wiley; sisters' Helen, Bella, and Ethel; and her parents. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 pm at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary Chapel.
