Iris May (Saylor) Helget, 102, joined her parents, Roy Saylor and Mabel Kelley, her husband Lawrence, her brother Lynn, sister Helen, daughter Shirley Bray, son Raymond Hanson on May 4, 2016. Iris will always be remembered for her great cooking, beautiful quilting, strong personality, strong will and a generous spirit. She was born December 29, 1913.

Iris's life was spent cooking for anyone that would eat; always an active participant on the ranch. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, playing cards and dice games. She always had a garden that allowed her to can and store food that would last for an entire year. Lawrence called square dancing and grandma danced. Living to be 102 was an amazing life and all who knew her loved her.

Iris is survived by her son Richard Huhman of Brighton, Colorado. In addition, she leaves her legacy in her grandchildren, Bartie Bray of Midland, Texas; Laura Hinkebein of Marco Island, Florida; Shelly Taylor of Big Piney, Wyoming; Kristy Huhman-Bergstrom of Lindsborg, Kansas; Barbara Griggs of Sundance, Wyoming; Kristi Hanson of Tempe, Arizona; Shawn Hanson of Brush, Colorado; Richard Huhman of Kansas; her nine great grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.

There will be a funeral service Friday, May 6, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Heer Mortuary in Brush, Colorado. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.  A reception is at the Carroll Building in Brush, Colorado immediately following.
