Ivan L. Chabot, 69, life resident of Washington & Morgan Counties, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland, CO following a lengthy illness. He was born December 23, 1939, in Akron, CO, to Harold & Lottie Chabot. He graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1957. On June 23, 1963, Ivan married Karen Williams in Snyder. Ivan's career was working with cattle. He had worked for the Weisbart Feedlot, J & A Feedlot, Brush Livestock of Colorado, and Livestock Exchange (LEI), now known as High Plains Livestock Exchange. He also worked as an independent cattle buyer for several area cattle companies. He was instrumental in helping to start the monthly dairy sales at LEI. He was a past president of the Morgan County Cattlemen's Association, and was a member of the Morgan County Fair "Catch-It" Calf Program. Survivors include his wife, Karen, of Snyder; 2 daughters, Loretta Beiriger, and her husband, Mark, of Hooper, CO, and June Chabot of Snyder; three brothers, Carroll of Hot Springs, SD, Dennis of Morrill, NE, and Robert of Chickashaw, OK; five sisters, Ila Rusch of Castle Rock, CO, Alvina Lake of Snyder, Marvella Teter of Brush, Glenna Overmiller of Smith Center, KS, and Ina Dimmick of Sevierville, TN; 5 grandchildren, Jordan, Megan, Taylor, Allie and Grant all of Hooper, CO. He was preceded in death by one brother, Delton, his parents, and his parents-in-law, Pokie & Lillian Williams. Funeral services will be Monday, March 9, 2009, at 10:30 AM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 –5 PM.
