Jack E. Emerson, 74, of Brush, died Saturday, February 9, 2008, in the emergency room at East Morgan County Hospital in Brush. He was born August 22, 1933, in East St. Louis, IL, to Jack & Mildred Emerson. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. On March 22, 1966, Jack married Marcie Lou Swenson in New Orleans, LA. The Emerson family moved to Morgan County in 1993. Jack had worked as a broadcaster at KFTM radio. He also worked as a projectionist at the Sands Theater in Brush. Jack was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed collecting old-time radio shows, working on old cars, cooking and was a history buff. Survivors include his wife, Marcie Lou of Brush; 4 children, Casey Emerson and Josef Emerson both of Kodiak, Alaska; Kristin Ashby of Oklahoma City, OK; and Michelle Dunn of Brush; and "these kids" – his 13 grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 14, 2008, at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. The Heer Mortuary in Brush is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
