Jaime Perez Gutierrez,78, longtime area resident, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at his home in Fort Morgan.

He was born May 18, 1940 in Rocksprings, Texas to Jose and Magdalena (Perez) Gutierrez.

He married Olivia Sandoval on November 14, 1958. She died in 2017.

Jaime enjoyed working on cars, collecting and selling scrap metal, dancing and singing. He also drove people to work and around town to make a little extra money.

Survivors include his children, James Gutierrez (Regina) of Greeley, Joselin Gutierrez (Sheile), of Brighton, Jesus Gutierrez (Angie) of Fort Morgan, Maria Lupe Gutierrez (Raymond) of Greeley, Maria Teresa Gutierrez of Greeley, Maria Lisa Gutierrez (Gabino) of Greeley, and Javier Gutierrez (Michelle) who lives in Nevada, brothers and sisters, Joselin, Americo, Jose, Manuel, Anita, Melva, and Rosa, all of Texas, 22 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Jaime was preceded in death by his wife Olivia, brother, Baldemar Gutierrez, grandson, Marlando Talamantes, great grandson, Josiah Balderrama, great-great granddaughter, Alexia Berdan, twin great-great grandsons, Messiah and Marcus Camacho, and his parents.

There will be a Rosary Vigil Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 5, 2018 at 10:00 am at Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens.

Memorial Gifts may be made in Jaime's name in care of the Heer Mortuary.
