JAMES P. DEGANHART, 54, of Weldona, died Monday, February 7, 2011. He was born in Sterling, CO on September 5, 1956 to John & Elizabeth (Carstens) Deganhart. He married Kimberlee Groves on September 10, 1977 in Fort Morgan. Jim was a longtime area farmer and he also owned AJ's Corner Tavern in Weldona for the past eight years. Jim was a member of the Elks Lodge. He was an exceptional cook and he was very well known for his cooking at AJ's. He was a very generous person blessed with the gift of good laughter. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and especially enjoyed time spent with his family and playing air guitar. Survivors include his wife, Kimberlee Deganhart of Weldona; his three children, Tyler Deganhart of Yuma, Luke Deganhart and his wife, Jody of Weldona, and Lindsey Deganhart of Denver; his mother, Elizabeth Deganhart of Brush; his sister, Mary Deganhart-Steele of Ridgway; and two brothers, John Deganhart Jr. of Castle Rock, and Tom Deganhart of Weldona. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Deganhart; and his father, John Deganhart. A memorial service will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 11th at the Weldon Valley School Gymnasium.
