James Edward Jones, 80, longtime area resident , died Friday, December 4, 2009 at his home in Brush. He was born April 24, 1929 in Ft. Morgan to Floyd and Ruth (Groves) Jones. James spent his childhood in Orchard, Colorado and had also lived in Casper, Wyoming. He married Lillian Kirkpatrick on August 14, 1948 in Wyoming. She died in 1968. On September 12, 1969 he married Grace E. Reagan in Wiggins. James enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting and anything that involved in the outdoors. He was also a foster parent for at risk boys in Morgan County. In his earlier years he adopted and trained wild Mustangs. James is survived by his wife Grace of Brush, two sons, Arthur Jones of Canon City and Rodney Jones of Brush, one daughter, Janet Sue Clifford of Golden Valley, Arizona, four sisters, Shirley Mae Morgan of Silver Springs, Maryland, Floydine Gay, Dell Rae Porter and Janis Wilson all of Cheyenne, Wyoming, 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Mark Jones. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 8, 2009 from 4 until 7:00 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Brush. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Brush. Interment will follow in Prairie View Cemetery, Stoneham, Colorado. Memorial Gifts may be made in James' name in care of the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Brush. The Heer & Dahl Mortuary and Crematory in Brush is in charge of the arrangements.
