Obituary

James W. Kintner, age 93, of Fort Morgan went to be with the Lord on July 13, 2025.

Jim was born on December 26, 1931, in Wilmore, Kentucky and moved to Indiana in 1940. He graduated from Tipton HS in 1949 and Taylor University in 1949. He was drafted to the Army and deployed to Germany during the Korean conflict. In 1955 he started teaching in Garrett, Indiana. At a teacher's conference in Ft. Wayne met the love of his life Doris (Bender) Kintner, who was also a teacher. They were married June 14, 1957, until Doris passed on August 12, 2020…sixty-three years of happiness.

Jim taught school for 33 years, including Old Baker and Columbine Elementary school, which he retired from.  After that, Jim drove for Centennial Mental Health for 12 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, biblical studies, traveling in the mountains, taking care of his beautiful yard, and watching the Broncos and Rockies.

Jim is survived by his daughters, Sharon Renshaw (Tim) of Longmont, and Sandy Baack of Golden; his brother, Robert of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Martha and Ernie Classen of Denver; six grandchildren; Jacob and Nathan Renshaw, Shawn Traylor (Thai); David Traylor, Thea Baack, and Kingston Morgan; three great grandchildren, Aleah, Liam and Ronin, and twenty-two nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris; his daughter, Suki Kintner Morgan; his mother and father, Pauline and Otis Kintner, and six siblings: Wilbur (Mae), Paul (Vivian), Francis (Howard), Margaret (Jim), Dorothy (George), and George (Carolyn).

There will be a family graveside service on Wednesday August 6th at 11:00 am at Serenity Falls Columbarium in Fort Morgan.
