James Arthur Knight, better known as "Jim", died Friday, October 9, 2009 at his home near Woodrow, Colorado from an apparent heart attack. He was 84 years, 1 month and 5 days old. He was born in Brush, Colorado on September 4, 1925 and except for a stint in the army during World War II, he spent his entire life farming near Woodrow. He married Letha Neoma Nickell on October 14, 1944 in St. Francis, Kansas. They raised their six children, James, Letha, Beverly, Pamela, Kelly, and Amy on their home farm. Jim was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brittney Kitchin, one grandson, Cody Tippit, and his beloved wife, Neoma who passed away in August of 2006. He is survived by his sister, Beulah Gilbert, his brother, Frank Knight and all six of his children. In addition, he is survived by 23 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. He will be cremated and a memorial service is being planned for a later date.
