James Leroy McDaniel, 72, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush.

He was born in Denver on November 17, 1948 to James & Rosemary McDaniel. He grew up in the Arvada area and has lived in the Akron area for the last 12 years. He married Linda Meyers on May 11, 1989.

Jim was a Navy veteran, and he enjoyed being active in the local VFW, American Legion, and the DAV, when he was able. He was a talented musician and played bass guitar and the trumpet. He was also a classic car enthusiast, enjoyed country drives, garage sailing, antiquing, and refinishing/refurbishing things. He was a talented carpenter and he loved building things. Perhaps Jim's greatest joy in life was his faith and his Bible.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Myers-McDaniel; his children, Zack McDaniel, Geno McDaniel, Lisbeth Hapney, and Erin Simmons; seven grandchildren; his brother, Jerry (Barbara) McDaniel; and his sister, Nancy (O.J.) Metzgar.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Friday, February 26 ^th at 10:00 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush, with the funeral service following at 11:30 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
