James Douglas Pettyjohn, 72 went to be with his Lord, February 24, 2007 at St. Luke's Medical Center in Meridian, ID. The family would like to thank the medical staff for their excellent care and compassion during these difficult times. Jim was born October 2, 1934 to William T. and Lucille Pettyjohn in Lafayette, Georgia. He moved to Colorado with his parents in 1951. He married Lona Hamburger of Greeley, Colorado on November 14, 1954. Lexie their oldest daughter was born July 31, 1957. Londa, their second daughter was born September 29, 1960. Jim spent his life in the oilfield industry working on drilling rigs, being a gas plant supervisor, doing well maintenance, to owning his own production and fabrication company, J & S Production and Oilfield Equipment. Jim is survived by one sister, Joan House of Abiliene, Texas, two brothers, Jerry Pettyjohn of Ft. Morgan and Tim Pettyjohn of Post, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his loving wife, Lona of Meridian, Idaho, his two daughters, Lexie Carroll of Caldwell, ID and Londa Huwa of Eagle, Idaho, his four grandchildren, Jordan Carroll of West Blocton, AL, Tennille Deaton of Wilder, ID, Heston and Farren Huwa of Eagle, ID and to add to his legacy he has four great grandchildren, Joslin and Lakota Deaton of Wilder Idaho, and Maci and Andrew Carroll of West Blocton, AL He will be loved and missed by all . In the words of one of the grandchildren and I quote, "He was the "best" grandpa that anyone could of ever have" Jim was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Billy. Visitation at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Ft. Morgan, Colorado will be Thursday, March 1, 2007 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Funeral services will be Friday, March 2, 2007 at 10:00 AM. at the Sanctuary, 330 State Street in Ft. Morgan. Interment will follow at the Evans Cemetery in Evans, Colorado at 1:00 PM. The Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Ft. Morgan is in charge of the local arrangements.
