James Donald Schauermann

James Donald “Jim” Schauermann passed away October 31, 2026, at Valley View Villa in Fort Morgan, CO. He was 84 years old.

He was born to Henry and Anna Schauermann on April 27, 1942.

Jim attended Fort Morgan Schools and graduated in 1960. He married Cookie Holly in 1960. They had been married 63 years at the time of Cookie’s passing.

Jim farmed with his dad and brothers. He worked for Morgan County REA as a lineman. He spent 30+ years as the local “telephone man”.

Jim had a love for good horses. He always kept one or two around for roping off of or watching Kris show.

Jim and Cookie traveled with their camper after Jim retired.

He was a farmer at heart and really enjoyed being able to help Jeff until his vision started to fail him.

His grandsons and great grandsons were his greatest joy. He loved being on the sidelines watching Otis Bulldog football.

Jim is preceded in death by his wife and his parents. In-Laws John and Margaret Holly. Sisters Mary Ann Steinke and Eileen Hagmann. Brothers Dale and Melvin Schauermann. Brothers-In-Law George Westhoff and Bob Hagmann. Sisters-In-Law and their husbands Winona and Jim Musser and Phyllis and Mark Hasting.

Jim is survived by daughters Kris Schauermann (John Walek) of Mead, CO, and Kelly Uhrig (Jeff) of Otis, CO. Grandsons Colton Uhrig (Tara) and Peyton Uhrig. Great Grandsons Parker and Mason Uhrig. Brothers Dick and John Schauermann. Brother-In-Law Delbert Steinke. Sisters-In-Law Nola Schauermann, Judy Schauermann, Marsha Schauermann, and Jo Westhoff. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no services at Jim’s request.
