James Edward Scheidt, 73, lifelong resident of Fort Morgan, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan.

He was born December 24, 1946 in Fort Morgan to Donald and Dorothy (Gunther) Scheidt.

James married Melva L. Pease on February 3, 1967 in Fort Morgan.

He was an avid fisherman and liked making his own tackle, (lures etc.).

James also enjoyed hunting ducks and geese, woodworking, motorcycles, and his two dogs, a great pyrenees, and a husky.

Survivors include his wife Melva of Fort Morgan, children, Michael Scheidt (Danielle) of Valentine, Nebraska, Dawn Marie Scheidt of Fort Morgan, and James B. Scheidt of Fort Morgan, grandsons, Chad Clifton of Fort Morgan, Justin Scheidt of Brookings, South Dakota, and Cody Scheidt of Valentine, Nebraska.

James was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside Memorial Services will be Monday, March 16, 2020 at 10:30 am at Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan.
