James H. Scott, 84, of Wiggins, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013, at Valley View Villa Nursing Home in Fort Morgan. He was born July 14, 1929, in Worcester, Mass, to Charles & Ellen Scott. James served in the US Army for over 21 years. On September 2, 1961, he married Maurin M. Lakin in Denver. After his discharge, James worked for the Adams County Sheriff's Department for 15 years. In 2001, the Scott family moved to Wiggins. James was a life member of St. Andrews Scottish Rite; a former member of the American Legion and the VFW. Survivors include his wife, Maurine of Wiggins; 2 children, Mechel Lang of Wiggins and Michael of Dodge City, KS; and 2 grandchildren, Tyler & Ruth. He was preceded in death by 1 grandson and his parents. A graveside service will full military honors by the US Army will be Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at 11:30 AM at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver
