JAMES "JIM" WILLIAM SHELTON, 64, of Fort Morgan, died Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Valley View Villa in Fort Morgan. He was born in Fort Morgan on January 23, 1946 to Francis & Hazel (Stutz) Shelton. The family farmed in Wiggins and later moved to Greeley. Jim graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1964, then he returned to Fort Morgan. He married Linda Boone on May 14, 1967 in Clayton, NM. Jim was a heavy equipment operator for Ransom Boone Excavating for 43 years. Jim was a member of the Brighton Church of Christ. He served on the board of Morgan County Raceway several years ago. His hobbies included stock car racing, hunting, and fishing. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family. Going to his children's and grandchildren's events were very important to him. He is survived by his wife, Linda Shelton of Fort Morgan; his son, Bradley Shelton & his wife, Brenda; and two daughters, Angie Hayes & her husband, Mark, and Tracey Mendoza, all of Fort Morgan, and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sandra Koenig; his son-in-law, Jesse Mendoza; and two step grandsons, Matthew Hayes and David Hayes. Visitation will be Friday, November 12th from 4 – 7 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Fort Morgan. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 13th at 10:00 AM at the Fort Morgan Middle School Auditorium. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan.
