JAMES "JIM" TIPPIT, 91, died February 10, 2012 at East Morgan County Hospital. He was born November 10, 1920 in Nowata, OK to James F. & Mary (Futhey) Tippit. He attended schools in Nowata and graduated before going into the Army Air Corps from 1943 until 1946. In 1947 he married Dorothy Stager. They lived in Nowata where Jim worked for Union Oil Company. They transferred him to Fort Morgan in 1962 where he worked until his retirement. Jim liked to do woodworking and make things out of pop cans. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 2006 and his son, Jerald in 2009, his parents, and two sisters. Survivors include his brother, Lloyd Tippit of Sun City, CA; his sister, Clara Wagner of Indianapolis, IN; his grandson, Aaron Tippit and wife, Cassie of North Carolina; his granddaughter, Shannon Tippit of Wyoming, one great grandson; his brother-in-law, Richard Stager and his wife of Nowata, OK; his daughter-in-law, Mary Beth of Wyoming, and several nieces, nephews, and friends who love him very much and will miss him. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, February 17th in Serenity Falls Columbarium in Fort Morgan. The Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Fort Morgan is in charge of arrangements.
