James L. Walker, 69, lifelong resident of Wiggins, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. He was born May 20, 1939 in Kersey, Colorado to Henry and Molly (Ring) Walker. James married Gwyn Gahagen on August 23, 1959 in Wiggins at the Wiggins Community Church. Jim spent his life farming and feeding cattle in the Wiggins area. His most treasured time was spent with his wife, children and grandchildren, talking about cars, taking them fishing and camping, and joking around with them. Survivors include his wife, Gwyn of Wiggins, one son, Keith Walker of Wiggins, two daughters, Teri Rogers of Kersey and Dawn Walker of Wiggins, one brother, Larry Walker of Greeley, three sisters, Norma Harshman of Delta, Patti Rothe of Montrose, Betty Lorenzini of Greeley and six grandchildren. James was preceded in death by, his parents, four brothers, Wilber, Leonard, Donald (Swede), and Gary Walker, three sisters, Florence Culberson, Elaine Fendel and Darlene Gibson. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 30th at 10:00 AM at the Wiggins Community Church in Wiggins. Interment will follow in Hoyt Cemetery. The Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan is in charge of the arrangements.
