Obituary

Jane Ellen Reyez was born on January 2, 1960 in Fort Morgan, CO to Darrel & Nancy (Earl) Aldrich. She died on May 31, 2022 at St. Anthony's North Hospital in Westminster.

She attended Fort Morgan schools and graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1978. Among her activities was playing the violin in the orchestra, first doubles on the tennis team, and writing a column for the high school newspaper for three years. She showed an interest in nursing then, as she was a candy striper (volunteer aid) at the Fort Morgan Hospital.

Jane attended Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, CO for an LPN license and received an ADN degree in nursing from Morgan Community College in 1992, the first year of the program at MCC.

After graduation she worked as an office nurse for Dr. Bruce Overturf in Fort Morgan, and for Dr. Gene M. Earl in Tyler, TX.  She was then employed for eleven years as a surgical nurse at Fort Morgan Community Hospital/ Colorado Plains Medical Center.

From 2010 to 2020 Jane taught classes in the CNA program, medical terminology (her favorite) phlebotomy, and customer relations, where she touched and encouraged many young lives.

In 2002, Jane received the MCC Outstanding Nursing Program Alumni Award.

In 1996, Jane married Joe Lee Reyez, also an RN, at the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan. They have one son, Tristan Josf Reyez.

Jane enjoyed music and watching cooking programs on TV. She traveled to Europe several times with members of her family and she enjoyed sightseeing in the US with Joe and Tristan.

Jane is survived by her husband, Joe; her son, Tristan; her mother, Nancy Aldrich; sister, Sally Aldrich; sister-in-law, Dr. Jane Celeste Abell; step children, Amy, Lisa, and Greg Reyez, and numerous other family members.

Jane was a kind, gentle, intelligent, loving person, with a wicked sense of humor, and was loved by her patients and students.

A celebration of Jane's life will be held on Saturday, June 11 th at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan.
