Janice Leigh Beauprez, 75, passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on August 5, 2018, in Fort Morgan, Colorado. She was born on April 23, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio to Richard Frank and Betty Jane (Morris) Kahl.

The family moved to Colorado in the early 1950s, and Jan attended school in Broomfield, Superior, and Louisville. She married Kenneth Beauprez on November 22, 1958, and the couple began farming in the Boulder area, where their children, Todd Beauprez and Debra Beauprez (Chestnut) were born. In 1968, they moved to Morgan County and continued farming.

During Jan's lifetime, she was an adoring wife and a loving partner who, as a farm wife, helped bring in crops. An extraordinarily loving mother to her children, she was also a "mother" to many who came into her life, to whom she demonstrated unconditional love, kindness, and a giving nature. Jan's candor and strong will garnered the respect of others. Her quick wit occasionally caught some off guard and brought laughter to the room. She was drawn to babies and small children, and they to her, for there was no small child that Jan didn't long to hold or cradle. Her infectious smile reflected a genuine love that lifted the spirit of those for whom she cared. Jan's deep capacity to love extended to all her family, including great nieces and nephews who delighted in her devotion.

Throughout her life, Jan enjoyed gardening and canning and took pride in sharing her preserves as gifts. She also appreciated the pleasure of water, whether it be lounging or playing in her pool or dipping her feet in the ocean. She proved time and again to be an outstanding seamstress who could create anything—from an entire wardrobe of doll clothing to the remaking of a prom dress on a moment's notice! She lovingly crocheted items she gifted to others and creatively worked with ceramics. In addition, Jan loved BLING—clothing that was abundantly embellished with beads, brilliant crystals, and rhinestones—the more grandiose the glitz, the better!

However, her most precious gift was the everlasting love she gave to her family and the little ones, the mothering she shared with many, and the joy she imparted to those whose presence she graced. This cherished gift will remain her living legacy.

Jan leaves behind her beloved husband of 60 years, Ken, her son, Todd Beauprez (Roxane) and daughter, Debbie Chestnut ( Rick); two grandsons, Wyatt Beauprez and Erik Chestnut; one granddaughter, Alisha Sagel; four siblings, Rick Kahl, Linda Costell, Bobbie Clapper, and Mike Kahl; sister-in-law, Maureen Kahl, and brothers-in-law, Ed Costell and Mark Clapper; nieces and nephews, Reid Kahl, Kent Kahl, Kelli McCloughan, Cami Kohler (Rusty), Doug Clapper (Genny), Melinda Schmalzer (Scott), Mitch Kahl, Morgan Kahl, and numerous great nieces and nephews who loved her as their "Ammy."

Jan was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed. She will be gone, but never forgotten.

Services will be held on Friday, August 10th , at 11 a.m. at St. Helena Catholic Church, Fort Morgan, with a luncheon to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
