Janice L. Rucker, 64, of Brush, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at the inpatient unit at the Hospice of Northern Colorado. She was born September 21, 1946, in Fort Morgan, to Earl & Rachel Hayes. Janice worked for many years as a waitress in several area cafes. She enjoyed working search-a-word puzzles, crocheting, knitting, and sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Cindy Hayes, Tracy Spelts, and Teresa Lanz, all of Brush, Cathy Segelke of Sterling, CO, Cristine Reed of Fort Morgan, and Quincy Spelts of Fort Collins; 1 brother, Ed Hayes of Laramie, WY; 1 sister, Rose Hutchinson of Bridgeport, NE; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Rucker, 2 sisters, Opal Pierce and Ruby Swires, and her parents. A graveside service will be held Monday, May 23, 2011, at 11:00 AM at the Interment Chapel at Brush Memorial Cemetery. Inurnment will follow in Columbine Columbarium.
