Jasper Eawin Carter, 57, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Ft. Morgan. Jasper was born August 17, 1954 in Greenville, Mississippi. He married Janie Spears on December 17, 1992 in Brighton. Jasper and Janie moved from Thornton to Ft. Morgan in 1997. Jasper worked for the post office but had always wanted to farm, so he and Janie bought a house with enough land so they could grow a little alfalfa and corn. Jasper enjoyed most sports, but especially football and golf. Survivors include his wife Janie Carter of Brush, four children, Nichole Carter of Morrison, Kyle Carter of Las Vegas, Larissa Carter and Tyler Carter both of Brush. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Elaine's Place in Ft. Morgan. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the scholarship fund for Jasper's children, in care of the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Brush.
