Klipfel
Dec 27, 1974 — Apr 3, 2025
Fort Morgan
Jay Klipfel, 50, passed away on April 3, 2025, in Denver, Colorado. Born on December 27, 1974, in Wray, Colorado, Jay lived a life rooted in service, family, and community.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Jay served his country honorably as an E-4. His time in the military reflected his deep sense of duty and commitment—qualities that remained with him throughout his life.
Outside of his service, Jay found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He very much enjoyed his time as a bus driver for the Brush School District. All the kids he took to and from school whether it was for the day or to take the FFA to an event, Robotics to a competition, or any sports team where they needed to be, they cherished him and respected him. He cherished spending time with his only granddaughter and held family moments close to his heart. Time spent with family was especially important to him and formed the foundation of many treasured memories, sharing stories or lending a helping hand, he was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. He never missed a game or cheer event for his daughter. Whether he was out hunting or casting a line while fishing, Jay embraced the outdoors with enthusiasm. A devoted fan of wrestling, he enjoyed the excitement and camaraderie it brought.
He also gave generously of his time to his community. Jay was a familiar face at the American Legion where he was in the position of adjutant, and he regularly helped with bingo events—bringing smiles and support to fellow members and guests alike.
Jay is lovingly remembered by his wife, Charla Klipfel; his daughter, BreeAnna Paul; his granddaughter, AnneLyse Paul; and his son-in-law, Randal Paul. He is also survived by his mother, Marilyn Klipfel; his brother and sister-in-law, James and Melissa Klipfel and his dearest friend Wanye Mattorano. Also, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, John Klipfel, his grandparents, Hazel and Robert Jones, Howard and Leah Klipfel and his cousin William Jones.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel located at 225 E. Platte Ave., Fort Morgan, Colorado 80701.
