Jean Francis (Wiggins) Baer, a longtime resident of the Wiggins Community, passed away on April 3, 2013 at the Greeley Place Independent Living Center in Greeley CO. Jean was born on April 6, 1928 in Broken Bow, NE. She was a charter member of the Wiggins Community Church, an active member of the Wiggins Senior Center, and the Women's Fellowship. She was a very honest and hardworking woman, loving mother, and grandmother, who is much admired by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Jean and her husband "Bob" farmed for many years south of Wiggins. She worked at the Wiggins Grocery Store until she retired in 1992. She enjoyed her church, gardening, and taking care of her family. She also enjoyed visiting and lending a helping hand with her many friends in the community. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Baer Jr.; her father, Elmer B. Wiggins; her mother, Lena Bashaw; and a brother, Ralph Wiggins. Jean is survived by her sister, Margaret Wedemeyer. Jean adored her children, Melvin Baer, David and (Lori) Baer, Joan and (Rick) McCormick, Janice and (Jerry) Tucker, Jill and (David) Sauter, and Joyce and (Wesley) Wonenberg; her 15 grandchildren, Matt Baer, Brenda Baer, Brian Baer, Amy Roberts, Rachael Pigott, Josh Tucker, Luke Sauter, Joe Tucker, Kim Baer, Andrew McCormick, Mark Sauter, Jean Barnes, SaDune Quarles, Julia Kokes, and Sarah Sauter. Jean is also is survived by17 great-grandchildren that she cherished. A public viewing is scheduled for Sunday April 7th from 2-4pm at the Heer Mortuary, 225 E. Platte Ave. in Fort Morgan. Funeral Services will be held at the Wiggins Community Church, 423 Dickson Street in Wiggins, on Monday, April 8th at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Services will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan followed by a reception in the fellowship hall of the Wiggins Community Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wiggins Community Church.
