Obituary

Cynthia Jean Bernath, aged 85, passed away November 13, 2012. Jean was born in Minehead, Somerset, England March 13, 1927 of Gladys and Cecil Kindon. She attended schools in England and after graduating from Business School, worked for the Midland Bank Ltd. In 1949 she immigrated to Oklahoma City and worked there for Shell Oil Company. She was a member and officer of the YWCA Froliclub and YMCA Young Adult Club. In 1952 she moved to Denver, Colorado still working for Shell Oil Company who transferred her to Fort Collins a year later. There she met and married Elemer Bernath in May 1954, after which they moved to Ft. Morgan. Jean worked part-time for the Fort Morgan Public Library for 7 ½ years, was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Ft. Morgan, was church librarian and belonged to Morning Circle. She is survived by her husband Elemer; her children, Stephen (Karalee) of Olympia Washington, Paul (Connie) of Denver, and Elizabeth (late Delbert) Riter of Broadus, Montana. There are six grandchildren Holli, Paul Jr., Kin, Miel, Valerie, and Amanda; two great grandchildren Jeremyia and Ashleii; as well as many other cousins and relatives in England and California. The memorial service will be held at the United Presbyterian Church Sunday, November 18, 2012 at 2 pm with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the United Presbyterian Church and the Ft. Morgan Public Library in memory of Jean.
