JEAN LOWE GRANERE, 96, of Fort Morgan, died early Sunday morning, January 7, 2007 at the Valley View Villa Care Center in Fort Morgan. She was born March 10, 1910 in northeast Adams County to John & Gertrude (Harman) Simpson. She graduated from Fort Morgan High School and also attended Barnes School of Business in Denver. She worked in Denver until she married Carl Granere on November 23, 1932 in Brush. Mrs. Granere was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Fort Morgan. Throughout the years she belonged to several community clubs, was a 4-H leader, taught Sunday Schol, and took part in several church activities. She enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, and dancing. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her four children; Ann Rehkop and Carl "Jack" Granere, both of Fort Morgan, Joan Garver of Laramie, WY, and Mary Rodwell of Anton; 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Carl; her sister Betty Glenn, her brother David Simpson; and her grandson Michael Rehkop. A memorial service will be Wednesday, Jan. 10th at 10:30 AM at the United Presbyterian Church in Fort Morgan. Private Inurnment will be in the United Presbyterian Church Columbarium. There has been cremation. Friends may make memorial gifts to the United Presbyterian Church.
