Jean Ann Knopp, 89, passed away April 23, 2026, at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush, Colorado. Born on August 3, 1936, in Denver, Colorado.
At the age of two, Jean was adopted by Paris (Perry) and Ella Boston. She grew up in Wiggins, Colorado, and graduated with the class of 1954. Throughout her youth, Jean was active in school activities, community work, and several clubs, including band, choir, Junior Red Cross, art, photography, prep club, and 4-H. Through these activities, she developed strong ethical values in work, community, and faith. On November 14, 1955, Jean married Lee Roy Knopp in Raton, NM, and they settled in Fort Morgan. While working full-time until her retirement at age 80, Jean also volunteered with the 4-H, Morgan County Nonprofit Hospice (later serving as director), the First Christian Church, the Denver Museum of Natural History, and many other Colorado organizations. She remained active in the First Christian Church for many years.
Jean is survived by three of her children: Teresa Klostriech and her husband, Shannon; Sandra Trautman; and Rick Knopp and his wife, Pamela; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Ella, her husband, Lee Roy, and one son, Ronald.
Following cremation, a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
