Jean Waters 80, Fort Morgan resident since 1987, passed away Friday, September 15, 2006 at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. She was born October 13, 1925, in Euclid, MN, to Louis & Sheila (Stewart) Helm. Jean worked in the ship yards in Seattle after graduating from High School in Bemidji, MN. While working there she met her future husband. On August 30, 1946 Jean married Vernard Waters in Goodland, KS. Following their marriage, the Waters family lived in Englewood, CO. Vernard passed away April 12, 1986. In 1987 Jean moved to Fort Morgan. She enjoyed gardening, working with flowers and was devoted to her family. sharing the flowers with her family. While living in Fort Morgan, Jean attended the United Methodist Church. Survivors include her 3 daughters, Marcia Kelly of Santa Rosa, CA, Debra Berry of Ulysses, KS, and Catherine Bullock of Fort Morgan; 1 sister, Leila Redding of Seattle, WA; 1 brother Leonard Helm of Bemidji, MN; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 brother, Leslie Helm, and her parents. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 18, 2006 at 12:00 PM at the Littleton Church of Christ, 6495 S. Colorado Blvd in Centennial, CO. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Littleton. Memorial gifts may be given to the Eben-Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. The Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Fort Morgan is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
