Jeanette Eileen (Duryea) Williams, affectionately known as Grandma Turkey, was born August 12, 1931 to Josephine (Schultz) and Ralph Duryea in Pawnee City, Nebraska. She passed away at the age of 90 surrounded by family on November 24, 2021 at the Harmony Home in Fort Morgan, Colorado.
She spent her childhood in Eastern Nebraska. She married Delmar (Willie) Williams on November 8, 1946 and they began their lives together in Colorado. Jeanette was devoted to raising her children and helping Willie in his oil field testing work.
They had three children, John (Marna) Williams, Dianna (Jerry Hull) Hall, and A Russell (Andrea) Williams.
Jeanette had 8 grandchildren, Becky McCoy, Dale (Marni) Williams, Wendi Whatley, Paula (Ray) Keefe, Churee Hall, Dencia (Cary) Kudron, Tony Williams, and Kelly (Josh) Soule.
Jeanette had 22 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.
She had one sister, Bettina (Harold) Dyer in Redding, California, and one brother, Darrel (Dorothy) Duryea In Lincoln, Nebraska.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willie, son, John, son-in-law, Larry Hall, granddaughter, Churee Hall, and great granddaughter, Shanae Keefe.
Jeanette and Willie moved to Arizona in 1968 and spent some of their summers in Colorado. In CO and AZ they were active square dancers. Willie was well known for his square dance calling. They loved teaching others how to square dance.
Because her family was so spread out, Jeanette started Christmas in July in Walden, Colorado. Family came from far and wide to celebrate being together. It soon became a family tradition enjoyed by several generations.
Jeanette was treasured by her family and adored by all. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM at The Sanctuary in Fort Morgan.
