Jennie L. Hastings, 62, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at her home east of Brush. She was born October 22, 1946, in Russell, KS, to Elbert & Iraene Bean. On March 15, 1968, Jennie married Dee Hastings in Montrose, CO. In 1985 the Hasting family moved to the Brush and Akron communities Jennie enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and visiting with people. Survivors include her husband, Dee of Akron, CO; 7 children, Marnissa Conter, and her husband, Shawn, of Sterling, CO, Charlie Hastings, and his wife, Tammie, of Fort Collins, CO, Jimmy Hastings, and his wife, Lacey, of Hillrose, CO, Tim Hastings of Longmont, CO, Kristen Smith, and her husband, Dan, of LaSalle, CO, Justine Hastings and Dorothy DeMers and her husband, David, both of Akron, CO; 1 brother, Jim Bean of Olathe, CO; 1 sister, Dorothy Thaemert of Hillrose, CO; 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 31, 2009, at 1:00 PM at Life Fellowship, 8th and Barlow (near WalMart) in Fort Morgan. The Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Brush was in charge of cremation arrangements.
