JESSE ELIAS MENDOZA, 44, of Fort Morgan, died Monday afternoon, April 6, 2009 at the University of Colorado Hospital Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion in Aurora. He was born July 20, 1964 in Fort Morgan to Abel & Hilda (DeLaFuente) Mendoza. He married Tracey Shelton in Estes Park on May 8, 1992. Mr. Mendoza owned and operated Jesse's 66' Station in Fort Morgan from 1990 until 1995. He worked at Central Auto Parts in Fort Morgan from 1995 until 2001, and worked as a control room operator at Colorado Energy Management in Brush from 2001 until the time of his death. Mendoza was a member of the Elks Lodge in Fort Morgan. His favorite pastime was fishing and boating. Survivors include his wife Tracey and their children, Coby Mendoza and Kayley Mendoza, all of Fort Morgan; his father, Abel Mendoza of Fort Morgan; his mother, Hilda Acosta of Fort Worth, TX; his brother, Reuben Mendoza of Akron; and his sister, Mary Mendoza of Fort Worth, TX. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Mendoza. Visitation will be Friday, April 10th from 4 – 8 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Fort Morgan. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 11th at the Church of Christ, 231 South Sherman Street, Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
