Jesus (Jesse) M. Perez, 88, longtime Hillrose area resident, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush. He was born February 6, 1927, in San Julian, Jalisco, Mexico, to Ausencio & Desideria Perez. Jesse married Teodosia Rocha on February 19, 1950, in Mexico. In 1952, the Perez' moved to Colorado. Jesse worked as a farm laborer until he retired. After his retirement, he worked as a seasonal employee for the City of Brush. He enjoyed time spent with his family, working in the yard, woodworking, and rock collecting. Survived by his loving wife, Teodosia, of 65 years. He leaves 9 children to cherish his memory: Elpidia Perez, Maria Perez, Ricardo Perez, Ruben Perez, Ausencio (Rosalie) Perez, Jesse Perez, Rodolfo (Karyn) Perez, Gloria (Ramon) Elder, and Rosa Perez, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 17 siblings and his parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 8, at 10:30 AM, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. A rosary and vigil will be held Thursday at 7:00 PM at the St. Mary's Church. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to honor his devotion to his faith, by asking that any memorial donations be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
