Jewell Mina (Robb) Hinerman, 86, of rural Byers, Colorado passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012 following a battle with cancer. She was born September 4, 1926 to Bernard and Mina Catherine Gilman at Greeley, Colorado. Due to her mother's death in childbirth, she was adopted by her maternal aunt and uncle, James G. and Ruth M. Robb. She grew up in Castle Rock, Colorado while attending Douglas County schools. In her teens her family relocated to Fort Morgan, Colorado and she graduated from Fort Morgan High School. She received her teaching certificate and worked as a teacher at a rural school in the Morgan County Colorado area. On December 15, 1945 she married John William Hinerman in Fort Morgan, Colorado. They had 2 children, Judy and Wayne, whom they raised in the Fort Morgan area while farming wheat and ranching cattle. Mrs. Hinerman enjoyed volunteering in the library of Byers High School for more than 20 years, as well as stamp collecting, reading, listening to Denver Nuggets games on the radio, writing to pen pals all around the world, listening to music, and watching movies. She was very active with her Seniors Group. She was also a member the Adena Union Church and leader of the sunday school for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Survivors include: daughter Judy Hoxsey of Apache Junction, AZ; son Wayne Hinerman of Hastings, NE; grandsons Scott Hinerman of Jacksonville, FL, and Timothy Hinerman of Santa Clarita, CA; great-grandchildren Avery and Drew Hinerman of Santa Clarita, CA; and half-sisters Janet Shaw of Honolulu, HI and Geneva Shen of Port Orchard, WA. A memorial service will be held Sunday November 18, 2012 at 2PM at the Byers High School Cafeteria with Rev. Steve Blackstock officiating. Burial will follow at the Fort Morgan Cemetery on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 2PM. Heer Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements. The family requests memorials go to the Byers High School Library through the Guaranty Bank and Trust.
