JIM KIMMEL, 43, died Friday, July 15, 2011 at the University of Colorado Hospital Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion in Aurora after a one year battle with cancer. He was born in Springville, NY on July 13, 1968 to Randolph & Eleanor (Barber) Wilber. He graduated from Greece Athena High School in 1987. Mr. Kimmel moved to Fort Morgan from Rochester, NY in 2003. He married Debra Franzen on March 25, 2007. He worked for Kodiak while living in Rochester then worked for Bloedorn Lumber and later, Cargill Meat Solutions in Fort Morgan. Kimmel was a member of the Morgan County Conservation Club and a past member of the Elks. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed shooting and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Debra Franzen of Fort Morgan; three stepsons, Chris Franzen and his wife, Priscilla and Keith Franzen, all of Greeley, and Justin Franzen of Kuwait; his brother, Richard Wilber and his wife, Karen of Pike, NY; his mother, Eleanor Barber of Alden, NY; and four grandchildren, Brayden of Fort Morgan, and Seth and Celeste and Sydney all of Greeley. Jim is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Randolph Wilber; and his brother, Gary Wilber. A memorial service will be Thursday, July 21st at 11:00 AM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Services will conclude at the chapel. Memorial gifts may be made to the Morgan County Conservation Club or to Jim's family in care of Heer & Dahl Mortuary.
