Obituary

Jim Louis Mueggenberg, of Akron, Colorado, passed away on October 2nd, 2025. He was a father, a husband, a veteran, and a man whose quiet strength and steadfast love left an unforgettable mark on all who knew him.

Jim was born on August 6, 1964, and from early on, it was clear that he possessed a heart devoted to those he loved. His life's journey was one defined by service, dedication, and family. These three pillars that shaped every decision he made.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, embodying the values of integrity, discipline, and sacrifice that would guide him throughout his life. His time in the military not only took him to new places but also instilled in him a lifelong appreciation for adventure and resilience.

After his service, Jim's career took him across various states, allowing him to experience different parts of the country while building a strong foundation for his family. Eventually, he pursued and earned his radiology technician license, a testament to his determination and commitment to lifelong learning. He worked hard, not only to provide for his family but also to set an example for his four sons —Reese, Joseph, James, and Dylan —showing them the value of perseverance and integrity in all things.

Jim's greatest joy in life was his family. He was a devoted husband to Libby, and together they built a home filled with laughter, love, and countless memories. Though Libby has already gone to Heaven, there is comfort in knowing that they are now reunited, two souls whose love continues to live on through their sons.

Jim's presence was one of calm strength. He had a way of grounding those around him, reminding everyone of what truly mattered: family, gratitude, and the simple joys of life. One of Jim's joys was hunting, a passion that connected him deeply to nature and his sons. His love for the outdoors, his patience, and his appreciation for those moments are something his sons will carry with them always.

Jim had a quiet humor, a kind heart, and a generous spirit. Whether it was offering advice, lending a hand, or sharing a story from his travels, Jim always gave of himself without hesitation.

While we mourn his passing today, we also celebrate a life well lived. One filled with courage, love, and purpose. His legacy lives on in his sons, who carry forward his values, his strength, and his love.

As we say goodbye, may we find peace in knowing that Jim's journey continues free from pain, reunited with Libby, and watching over the family he loved so dearly.

Jim is survived by his sons, Reese Bower (Kelley), Joseph Mueggenberg (Tenneya), James Mueggenberg, and Dylan Mueggenberg (Lindsey); and his grandchildren, Colton, Blakeley, and soon-to-be Emma Mueggenberg.

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Libby Mueggenberg, and his father, Louis Mueggenberg.
